Meaningfully engage stakeholders
responsible for managing the development of urban
habitats: policymakers, public administrators, business
leaders, opinion leaders, community development
organisations, civil society organisations, academicians
and think tanks, international development agencies,
students, etc.
- Identify policy challenges,
opportunities for innovation, and highlight best
practices and solutions for creating sustainable
urban habitats across the country,
- The ‘Summit’ will deliver a public engagement
model for developing an alternative urban vision for
the creation of liveable cities in India, in the following
ways:
- Create a platform for
dialogue between various stakeholders and anchor
an ongoing conversation on challenges and
opportunities in urbanising India,
- Facilitate the creation of a manifesto of
citizens’ aspirations,
- Lead consultations
across metro and non-metro cities of India in the lead
up to the Summit to solicit city-level participation,
and also to build local networks, and
- Develop and disseminate position
papers on key issues impacting urbanisation to
facilitate policy recommendations / draft legislation.
